Description: WGZE served as PS&E Consultant on this intersection Improvement Project. Two Separate PS&E packages were prepared for this intersection. Each required encroachment permits from Caltrans. Hospital Road added a eastbound right turn lane, relocation and modifications to the traffic signals, retaining wall (within Caltrans R/W), drainage improvements, hydrology and hydraulics analysis, and signing and striping. Newport Boulevard widened the southbound roadway to accommodate a right turn, bike path, grading (fill in a step embankment), hydrology and hydraulic analysis, retaining walls, drainage modifications, traffic signal modifications and signing and striping. This City project required coordination with the City, Caltrans, Hoag Hospital and their engineers and architects. Caltrans required separate submittals for grading and PS&E
